The Energy Trust of Oregon (“ETO”) has a large budget and does an excellent job at education on energy related topics, primarily with regard to energy efficiency and renewable energy. The ETO also has a significant amount of funding available for rebates and other incentives; at least for customers serviced by one of the Investor Owned Utilities (“IOU”) from which the ETO receives the majority of their funding.
For inquiries from individuals and businesses located within an IOU service area, we will refer them to the appropriate contact at the ETO for educational needs and any applicable rebates. For those not located in an IOU service area, such as those who purchase electricity from a cooperative or other local utility, we will provide what educational and networking services we can as to energy efficiency and renewable energy. For ALL entities seeking financing advice, we will identify funding alternatives and if desired, negotiate as to rates and terms.
For renewable energy, the ETO favors solar and small-scale hydro as technologies. In addition to these, we will track progress in other renewable areas, such as small wind turbines, ocean or tidal energy, etc. and share our findings with interested parties as progress is made towards commercial viability.
